Cable entry in factory/control room

Sealed or Open? Yours?

A company from Sweden has built their factory in Vadodara. This was a new greenfield project. This city has typical water logging problems during monsoon & it is very well known fact.  In the first monsoon itself, the shop floor of this factory was under water. Is it normal? I wonder why they did not build their shop floor at little height say 6 ft?

The Sweden company had installed mouse traps, to their surprise during this water lodging in industrial area they also found snakes trapped in the the mouse traps. What do you think, where is a miss?

Can you believe the water was entering from the holes meant for taking the pipes and cables inside the building from lower ground level.

Disaster is higher level, but in routine maintenance also we find rodents entering in the electrical panel causes interruptions, but from where do they enter?

Human is selfish so we discuss only about interruption but they (rodents) lose their life too…that to a bad death. Is it just a co-incidence?

What are your thoughts on the small holes made in the solid building for entry of pipes and cables in side the premises?

What are your observations in Industries and Substations about Cable Entry to the panels and to the premises?

Whether this is problem at Construction stage? Maintenance Stage? Design Stage? or something else?

Lets discuss more on this at Care4Cable – Underground Cable Workshops. We are known as experts in Jugad, do you have something to share as what is being used to seal these small openings? Also, If you have more questions related to this, please add in comments.
